Friends In Crisis Series

In this blog post, I would like to outline how I was inspired to write a particular romantic suspense series about a group of friends who manage adversity and challenges with heart.

My first book in the Friends In Crisis Series, Haunted By The Past was inspired by a book I’d read called Mind Hunters by John Douglas. It was a book that discussed the profiles of serial killers and stalkers and gave me an understanding of the way a serial killer’s mind works. For example, a serial killer sometimes likes to revisit the scene of the crime in order to relive the fantasy of the kill. Knowing this, law enforcement can track a killer this way or by any other method which fits the profile of a particular type of murderer.

John Douglas and other agents in law enforcement had interviewed many serial killers in prison and taped their conversations as a way to understand a particular type of pattern for different types of murders. They learned to understand what motivates a rapist or a love-obsessed stalker or a killer who gets a thrill out of the prolonged torture of their victim. Their work has led to capturing many killers through the behavioural profile and methodical pattern of a particular type of crime.

In my first novel of the Friends In Crisis Series, entitled Haunted By The Past, you have both a stalker and a serial killer who hunts the female protagonist, Bella for a reason. Throughout the book, a series of escalating crimes and murders forces Bella and her love interest and detective, Marco to profile the criminal behaviour so as to capture the criminal in the end. This doesn’t happen before the serial killer raises the stakes and puts their loved ones at great risk.

In my second novel of the Friends In Crisis Series, entitled Twisted Obsession, you have Bella’s friend, Liz who is struggling to come to terms with her ex-boyfriend’s prison release. She has a stalker and believes it is the ex-boyfriend who is taunting her. Scenes of drug abuse, domestic violence, and murder fill the pages of this novel, and you wonder who is the real criminal here. This story was inspired by my interaction with victims of domestic violence.

In my third and latest novel of the Friends In Crisis Series, entitled Web Of Lies, you have Jamie whose father gets arrested for a vicious crime. She experiences the wrath of a stalker and discovers family secrets as her past collides with her present. She falls in love with Angelo, a detective on her case, and as the story unfolds, she is unsure about who to trust. Be ready for twists and turns in this novel.

I am currently working on my fourth novel of the Friends In Crisis Series, involving another friend, Gabriella. This story will involve murders staged as suicides and was inspired by real news stories. Stay tuned for this one.

To conclude, I have enjoyed writing these books in the series so far, and plan to create more new stories involving other friends who face different crises and challenges. They are strong women who manage adversity with heart.
