Web Of Lies (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Another great book from this author!
This book here is just another one of the great books she writes!
Web Of Lies (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Even though I’m only reading this third book from the trilogy, it has a separate plot.
Twenty-eight-year-old Dr. Jamie, along with new detective Angelo, are trying to solve serial murders. Family secrets, persecutions, saving other lives emerge here. The novel contains many romantic scenes, inner doubts and imminent dangers.
The plot is very exciting, along with the characters you follow the plot, and you are waiting for what will happen in the next chapter. How nice it was for Jamie and Angelo to achieve goals and unravel the chains of events together.
This is a book for a few nights or for a long flight. It will not be boring.
I was inspired to write the third book in the Friends In Crisis Series after reading about Gerard Gallego who killed ten people between 1978 to 1980. The true story has a happy ending as the serial killer was eventually caught and imprisoned.
The two prior books in the Friends In Crisis Series are Twisted Obsession and Haunted By the Past, and focus on friends having their own individual tragedies and trauma.
The story, Web Of Lies follows Jamie who discovers family secrets that shake her world. What she discovers leads her to fight against an unknown enemy. Even her love interest, a detective by the name of Angelo is at risk as they come together to save young, teenage girls who go missing and eventually die. A serial killer is at large, but will they be able to stop the murders and save themselves? You”ll need to read the story to find out.
My research for the book involved reading true story articles and police procedural books, using the Internet to research serial killer motivations, and following a podcast about police procedures. I also previously communicated with film and TV police consultancy services.
Here are a few teasers below:
The man beamed and gave her a thumbs-up. “Well, you can start now if you like. Come to my van and I’ll give you the leaflets.” The girl again ignored her uneasiness at the man’s strange demeanour as she thought about the money that could pay for all her needs. The van was parked in an isolated part of the area, but she waited for the man to open the sliding door, knowing that her luck was about to change.

Why hadn’t her mother picked her up from the party? She was lost and had no idea how to get home. Jamie fell to her knees, hearing footsteps behind her, but she didn’t see anyone. A dark cloud enveloped her world.

“Hi, I’m scouting around for models to photograph. And you have just the face I am looking for. Are you interested in some quick cash?”
“Hell, yeah!” the pretty girl replied.
“Great! Why don’t you come with me? You can meet the photographer, who will gladly create a portfolio for you. Let’s go.”
Her eyes brightened and her energy surged. “Sure thing,” said the girl.

Something tugged against her. Was she dreaming of Angelo lying beside her, wanting to share her bed? But when rough hands pulled off the blankets and ripped off her nightgown, she screamed. A gloved hand fell over her mouth but the man lying on top of her wore a balaclava with dark glasses and a thick jacket. She couldn’t see his eyes. The gloved hand stifled further screams as she wriggled her body, fighting against her attacker. He was too strong.

In a futile attempt to put more distance between them, Jamie pressed her back into the rough bark. What would it feel like to taste his lips? She could lean in and they would share a kiss. She got lost in his eyes as if he was processing the moment. She waited to see if he would kiss her, more out of curiosity than anything.
